Greening Screenings

Hey all,
There are some great video screenings being held at North Bay auditorium (in the basement of the public library). The videos are usually alternative lifestyle/environmental documentarys and they are always very interesting and well produced!
The screenings are organized by Greening Nipissing and hosted by Hibou Boutique, there is time for discussion afterwards with some local people which is really awesome.
They are usually held every few Tuesdays at 7pm and I urge anyone who is interested to call Hibou Boutique or Greening Nipissing to get some more information on it because it's a really great event in the North Bay area!

Thanks and happy holidays
PS. There are hundreds of delicious vegan Christmas/Kwanzaa/Holiday recipes so please be kind these holidays and keep meat and animal products off your table!

Can Change Festival

Hey again,

So on Saturday, September 19th the third annual Can Change Festival rocked the North Bay Waterfront. We worked the Go Veg table with lots of information on veganism and vegetarianism, as well as some specific to the environmental impacts of eating meat and animal products. There was lots of great people who were really interested in all of the issues so that was awesome!

There was lots of different musicians providing entertainment, and lots of great businesses and initiatives that had a variety of information on all the issues out there. The Go Veg table was situated between the fair trade table and the car powered by vegetable oil (props to Allan Hodder!), and we had quite a few interested people coming and asking questions.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the festival, and thanks to Kristina Vardy-Roy, the EAC and all of the people who put it together!

A story about why people own pets

This is a presentation made based on an awesome song by Poison Girls called 'Offending Article' (Check it out if you've never heard it!). It's a little story about a girl named Alex who makes some connections about why humans like to try and own other animals as pets. It also relates to some other events in our lives that are similar to this practise we call pet ownership.

Some things to think about, hope you enjoy!
